There are some fantastic backing track sites out there to help students present great end of year exam recitals and auditions.
One of my favourites is Karaoke Version. This site offers the ability to download backing tracks for guitar, bass, drums, keys or vocals and it’s quite inexpensive. It’s an easy interface to use and the quality is great!
Ameritz is also a great site for MP3 downloads. It allows you to choose the key to customise and if you sign up for their newsletter you have access to cheaper rates as they advertise regularly.
You of course could just rip something from YouTube but you need to ask yourself, is the freeness and illegality of that putting your best foot forward in an exam or audition???
I suggest investing a small amount of money to put your best performance out there. Short changing yourself by using substandard backing tracks may help the pocket but can hurt your musical growth.
